. A part to be demagnetized must be exposed to an alternating magnetic field that decreases H. Residual magnetism in a part can come either from exposure to a magnet (machining on a magnetic plate, lifting with magnetic carriers, etc.) or from machining the part itself (friction, molecular change, etc.). In order to demagnetize large parts, either to comply with specifications (automotive standards, etc.) or to carry out machining (on a wire machine for example), the demagnetizer is passed over the part at a low and constant speed (about 0.2 m/sec). It is essential to remove the demagnetizer from the room 20 to 30 cm before turning it off.
