MHC Pull Clamp Cylinders

Description

Improve productivity and reduce downtime on presses with the MHC pull clamp cylinders. More capacity within small dimensions, also suitable for non-straight die surfaces.

For easy, safe clamping at points that can be difficult to reach, EAS offers two types of T slot pull cylinders for metal stamping presses. The MHC, like the ECA clamps, are pull cylinders. If more continuous pressure is required, the double acting cylinder series MOD, MPR or the swing clamp series MSR are recommended.

FUNCTION

Both the MHC and the ECA feature one oil connection to deliver hydraulic power in one direction. Once put under pressure, the cylinder “pulls” the rod and the T-nut. The integrated spring pushes the plunger back in its original unclamped position if the clamping pressure is taken away. Both pull clamps are moved manually towards the die in the T-slot. Because of the larger clamping stroke these cylinders can be used for different sizes of back-plate thicknesses.

MHC FEATURES

These single acting hydraulic hollow ram or pulling cylinders are widely used at QDC applications on stamping presses. Thanks to a larger clamping stroke, the MHC single acting pull cylinders can be used for different sizes of back-plate thicknesses. The ECA clamps can be applied in a wider range of temperatures and has a bigger capacity when it comes to clamping force. The MHC, whilst being slightly more compact, can actually be seen as ECA’s big brother, these type of clamps are used for heavier applications.

For standard QDC operations, opt for the ECA clamps. The ECA has a wider temperature range than the MHC, as well as bigger capacities when it comes to clamping force. For more heavy duty operations, the MHC pull clamp cylinders are a beter option. Both pull clamps are moved manually towards the die in the T-slot. Because of the large clamping stroke these cylinders can be used for different sizes of back-plate thicknesses.

Clamping force: 44, 68 and 116 kN
Clamping stroke: 12 mm
Key points MHC
Single acting hydraulic QDC clamp
Heavy duty version,
Suitable for straight as well as non-flat surfaces
Easy to move and to use also for non-standardized die back-plates

PARKING STATIONS FOR PULL CLAMP CYLINDERS

To accommodate your MHC or ECA cylinder during die change, EAS recommends the PSL parking stations. Parking stations on a die press help endure the lifespan of your hoses and cylinders. The EAS parking stations are also available with an integrated check valve.

STANDARD USAGE

The hollow piston cylinders are manually inserted into the T slot in the direction of the die, both on the bolster pressbed as well as on the slide ( upper) pressbed. In order to clamp the backplates of the dies firmly to the pressbeds there is a U-shape opening made into the back plate.
